Since her very first meeting with Gangaji, Kosi viewed her as the true and final teacher she had been looking for, but this unexpectedly changed when she received shaktipat initiation from Sri Amma Karunamayi who is recognized throughout India and the world as a living Saint and Avatar—one who is born enlightened as the embodiment of the Divine Mother. Kosi views the purity of Ramana Maharshi's Silence and Self-inquiry combined with Amma's indescribable and mysterious appearance in her life as the final teaching and transmission that offers true liberation.

Ramana Maharshi maintained that there was no need for a lineage due to the simple fact that Silence and Self-inquiry reveals the Living Truth in your own Heart. Kosi deeply realizes that one true and deep look into the depths of your Heart is all that is required to realize that your eternal freedom and the truest teacher is the Living Presence of the Heart. At the same time, based on her direct experience; the teacher, teaching, and lineage offer essential support for breaking free of the powerful limitations of the egoic mind.

Kosi's teaching is a potent transmission of the power and Grace of Sri Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi and Sri Amma Karuanamai. Although she views Ramana and Amma as the most profound, she has also studied many different spiritual traditions as well as spent time with some of the world's most renowned spiritual teachers—The Dalai Lama, Sogyal Rinpoche, Deepak Chopra, Gurumayi, and Shakti Gwain—to name a few.

Kosi's birth name is Jill Warner. She grew up in Northern Virginia in the United States and is a graduate of Virginia Tech. After graduating from college her career led her to the famed Silicon Valley in Northern California were she enjoyed success previously unimagined in computer software sales. To her amazement, her financial success offered no lasting fulfillment or happiness and her spiritual search, which ultimately led her to Gangaji, began in earnest in the summer of 1996. She is the author of three books: Absence of Doubt, The Secret Teaching of Jesus Christ, and Arunachala Siva—Heart of Ramana.

The advent of the name occurred in Tiruvanammalai India as a sacred transmission of the purest teaching of Ramana Maharshi and, like all spiritual names, it serves to reveal the illusory power of our personal identity, or the name given to us at birth, can hide the living freedom that is alive in our own Heart. The name Kosi also has spiritual significance associated with theKosi River in India. It also serves to remind you of the simple ordinary joy of life, the essence of your true nature—laughter—a reminder not to take life too seriously.
